Tier 3 Service Engineer

POSITION \ Tier 3 service engineer
Location - South Bend, IN
Type - Full-time


As a Tier 3 Engineer, you will serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues being escalated from our Tier 2 Managed Service Engineers (for example, issues related to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our clients’ critical IT infrastructure.) Depending upon your specific area of expertise, you will also be involved in the design, implementation, and support of your assigned practice area. Practice areas include: Network, Cloud, and Project Services.

essential Duties + Responsibilities

  • Working directly with managed services clients to assist in managing IT environments

  • Onboard clients, document environments, and setup monitoring and alerts

  • Provide general support to all clients as needed

  • Provide Tier 3 escalation support for Service Desk and Managed Services incidents, service requests, and changes

  • Ensure recurring / preventative maintenance plans are defined and implemented for managed services customers

  • Other duties as assigned

preferred skills

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field - or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 3-5 years' experience troubleshooting and resolving technical problems

    • Area of expertise to include one of the following:

    • Citrix

    • Microsoft Office 365

    • Security

    • Networking

    • Cloud

  • Proficiency in the following areas:

    • Active Directory, software installation/removal, data backups/restores, antivirus/firewalls/security, Internet/networking/wireless connectivity

    • Remote access, UPS's, print servers and printer maintenance and repair

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required. Prior communication with C+ level executives a plus

  • Resourceful in getting things done, self-starter, productive working independently or collaboratively – ours is a fast-pace entrepreneurial environment with performance expectations and deadlines
